Privacy policy

This page covers what CaddieStats stores about you and why. Any questions, email support@caddiestats.ie.
Who is responsible for my data?
Mark Scally, based in Ireland, is the data controller. Contact: support@caddiestats.ie.
What do we collect?
- Email address — to sign you in and send password resets. We’ll also email you if the service changes or closes.
- Name and handicap index — shown on your dashboard and used to score your rounds.
- Your rounds — the course, the date, and the GPS position of every shot. This shows where you were, so we never share it.
- Your watch — its model and an ID created when you pair it. Both appear under Your watches, where you can unlink it.
- Your watch’s location when finding courses — the watch sends it to find courses near you. It isn’t saved to your account.
- Course requests and edits — anything you send us about a course, so we can add or fix it.
- IP addresses — kept for a short time in server logs, and used to block abuse such as repeated sign-in attempts.
- Page visits — counted by Cloudflare (see below).
Page visit tracking
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits to this website and your dashboard. It records the page, the site you came from, your country, and your browser and device type.
It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t identify you, and doesn’t follow you to other websites.
Legal basis
- Your account, rounds and watches — we need these to run the service you signed up for (performance of a contract).
- IP logs, page visits and course requests — our legitimate interest in keeping the site running, safe and accurate.
Who else sees it?
- Hostinger hosts the website and the database.
- Cloudflare counts page visits.
- Google, only if you use Continue with Google. Google then knows you signed in to CaddieStats.
- Esri supplies the satellite images on the course maps. Your browser loads them directly from Esri, so Esri sees your IP address. No account details are sent.
We don’t sell your data and there are no ads.
How long do we keep it?
Until you delete it. Deleting your account removes your data straight away. A copy stays in our nightly backups for 60 days, then it’s gone.
What are my rights?
Under GDPR you can:
- Get a copy — use Download my data on your Account page. The file is standard JSON, so you can take it elsewhere.
- Delete it — use Delete my account on the same page.
- Correct it — change your handicap on your Profile page. For anything else, email us.
- Object to or limit how we use it — email us.
- Complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Cookies
One cookie, caddie_sess, keeps you signed in. Your light/dark
mode choice and any unsaved course editor changes are stored in your
browser only. There are no other cookies, so there’s no cookie
banner.
Age
You must be 16 or over to use CaddieStats.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. We’ll email you about any big changes.
